Offset attacks are a new mechanic in Monster Hunter Wilds that allow players to interrupt enemy attacks and counter with a devastating blow. This move is only applicable with certain heavy weapons, including the Great Sword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Switch Axe, and Heavy Bowgun. The specifics of the attack vary based on the weapon used.

To perform an offset attack, players must time their attack to coincide with the enemy's attack. This requires precise timing and can result in a stagger or even topple the monster. However, monsters will become more resistant to offset attacks as they are used repeatedly.

Mastering Power Clashes

Power clashes are another new move type in Monster Hunter Wilds that trigger when a player times their block to parry an incoming attack. This requires perfect timing and can lead to a powerful counterattack. Power clashes are only available with certain weapons, including the Great Sword, Gunlance, Sword and Shield, Charge Blade, Lance, and Heavy Bowgun.

Unlike offset attacks, power clashes do not require complex inputs or combos to activate. However, they do require players to master the timing of their blocks to trigger the power clash. As with offset attacks, monsters will become more resistant to power clashes as they are used repeatedly.

Importance of Teamwork

Monster Hunter Wilds is designed to be played with friends, and teamwork is crucial for success in the game. Players can call in support hunters if they are alone, and the game is cross-platform, allowing players to team up with friends across different platforms.

Customizing the Radial Menu
